Ireland (IE)Answered from the same data and calculations used above.
The ISIN of Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD is IE00BLRPN388. It trades in GBP. The ISIN identifies the fund itself, so every exchange listing of this share class shares it.
Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD (FEMS) charges a total expense ratio of 0.30% a year, about $30 a year on a $10,000 holding. The TER is deducted continuously from fund assets rather than billed to you, so it shows up as a drag on returns and never as a separate charge.
Measured against MSCI EM (proxy: EEM), FEMS lagged by 0.69% a year — that is the cost you actually bore, versus a headline TER of 0.30%. It trailed by MORE than its stated fee, so trading costs, cash drag or withholding tax added to what the TER implies. This realised tracking difference is the honest number to compare funds on; the TER alone is not.
No — Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD (FEMS) is an accumulating share class, so dividends received from its holdings are reinvested inside the fund instead of being paid out. You realise that income as capital growth when you sell, which in many jurisdictions defers the tax event rather than triggering one each distribution.
Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD (FEMS) is domiciled in Ireland (IE). A Ireland-domiciled UCITS fund receives US dividends at a 15% treaty withholding rate inside the fund, versus the 30% statutory rate on dividends paid directly to a non-resident (generally 25% for an Indian resident under the India-US treaty with a valid W-8BEN). The fund-level 15% is deducted before NAV and is not reclaimable by you. Its shares also sit outside US estate tax, which applies to US-situs assets above $60,000 for non-resident aliens.
Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD (FEMS) tracks the Fidelity EM Equity Research Enhanced, holding 0 positions. Any fund tracking the same index gives you materially the same exposure, so cost, size and share class are usually what separate the alternatives, not the strategy.
Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD (FEMS) holds $4.4bn in assets. Size matters mainly for liquidity and durability: larger funds tend to quote tighter spreads and are far less likely to be closed or merged away.
Over the measured window FEMS showed annualised volatility of about 17.8% and a worst peak-to-trough fall of 24.4%. Volatility describes the size of a typical swing; the drawdown is what actually happened at the worst moment, and it is the number worth checking you could have held through.
FEMS returned 44.3% in total over the trailing five years, measured in GBP. Past performance describes what the index did, not what it will do, and for an index tracker it is mostly a statement about the market rather than about the manager.
Fidelity Emerging Markets Equity Research Enhanced UCITS ETF ACC-USD (FEMS) launched on 2020-11-24, giving it about 6 years of history. Note that a price series for one exchange listing can start later than the fund itself if the listing was added afterwards.
